_Sips tea while typing_
Oh my goodness, ladies and gents, let me tell you about this absolutely divine Chinese recipe that’s been making my family beg for seconds! As someone who’s spent countless hours perfecting this dish (and maybe burning it once or twice – we’ve all been there!), I’m super excited to share my foolproof Honey Glazed Crispy Walnut Shrimp recipe with you.
This dish is seriously everything – sweet, crispy, and totally Instagram-worthy. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you, and your guests will think you ordered takeout from that fancy Chinese restaurant downtown!
Here’s what you’ll need (I know you’re already running to your kitchen!):
– 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 cup walnuts
– 2 egg whites
– ½ cup mayonnaise
– 3 tablespoons honey
– 1 tablespoon condensed milk
– ½ cup cornstarch
– Oil for frying
– Salt and white pepper to taste
Now, here’s where the magic happens (and where I usually tie my hair up because things are about to get serious!):
1. First, let’s candify those walnuts! Blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes, drain, and toss in sugar. Fry them until golden – watch them like a hawk because they burn faster than my ex’s photos! 😉
1. Pat those shrimp dry (seriously, dry as the Sahara desert). Dip them in egg whites, then cornstarch.
1. For the sauce (this is where the heaven comes in), whisk together mayonnaise, honey, and condensed milk until smooth.
Speaking of heaven, if you’re loving this recipe as much as I am, make sure to follow me on Newsbreak for more mouthwatering recipes that’ll make your family think you secretly attended culinary school!
1. Fry those coated shrimp until golden and crispy (about 2-3 minutes). Don’t crowd the pan – these babies need their space!
1. Toss the hot shrimp in your honey sauce mixture, top with those candied walnuts, and sprinkle with a tiny pinch of salt.
Y’all, when I tell you this dish is life-changing, I mean it! It’s sweet, it’s savory, it’s crispy – it’s everything you never knew you needed in your life. My kids literally fight over the last piece (mom win!).
Serve it hot, and watch everyone’s faces light up! I usually pair this with some steamed jasmine rice and stir-fried bok choy because balance, right? 😊

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some leftovers calling my name from the fridge (just kidding, there are never any leftovers with this dish! 😂).
XOXO,
Your favorite food-obsessed friend 💋
