Oh. My. Goodness. Ladies (and gentlemen), let me tell you about this absolutely divine dessert that’s going to make your dinner guests think you’ve been secretly training at Le Cordon Bleu. Say hello to my Caramelized Pear and Mascarpone Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce. Trust me, this isn’t your grandma’s regular bread pudding!

Listen, I’ve been testing this recipe for weeks (my husband isn’t complaining), and I’ve finally perfected it to share with all of you beautiful souls. This dessert is like a warm hug for your taste buds – it’s cozy, sophisticated, and just a tiny bit boozy! 😉

Ingredients (because we need to get this party started):
– 1 loaf day-old brioche bread, cubed
– 3 ripe pears
– 8 oz mascarpone cheese
– 4 large eggs
– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 2 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– 1/4 tsp nutmeg
– Pinch of salt

For the bourbon sauce (because why not?):
– 1/2 cup butter
– 1 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup bourbon
– 1/4 cup heavy cream

Now, let’s get cooking (and try not to sample too much of that bourbon 😘):

1. First, let’s caramelize those pears. Slice them thinly, toss them in some butter and brown sugar, and cook until they’re golden and dreamy. Set aside and try not to eat them all (I see you!).

1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. This is your custard base, and honey, it’s about to get real good.

1. Layer half the bread cubes in a buttered 9×13 baking dish. Spread the mascarpone in dollops (don’t worry about being neat), add half the caramelized pears, then repeat layers.

1. Pour that luxurious custard all over, making sure every piece of bread gets some love. Let it sit for 30 minutes – perfect time to scroll through more of my recipes on Newsbreak!

1. Bake at 350°F for about 45-50 minutes until golden brown and slightly puffy.

For the sauce (because we’re extra like that):
Melt butter, add sugar, bourbon, and cream. Simmer until thickened. Try not to drink it straight from the pan – I know it’s tempting!

Ladies, when you pull this out of the oven, your kitchen will smell like heaven, and your family will think you’re a culinary goddess. Drizzle that bourbon sauce over each serving and watch the magic happen!

If you’ve made it this far, you’re officially my new bestie! Don’t forget to follow me on Newsbreak for more recipes that’ll make your taste buds dance. Drop a comment below and let me know if this dessert made you the star of your dinner party (I know it will! 💁‍♀️).

Pro tip: This pairs beautifully with a glass of dessert wine, or if you’re like me after a long day of recipe testing, maybe just the whole bottle! Just kidding… sort of! 😉

XOXO,
Your favorite recipe girl
