_Sips coffee while typing_
Oh my goodness, ladies and gents, let me tell you about this absolutely divine recipe that’s been my go-to when I need something impressive but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen (because let’s be real, who has the time?). These Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are literally heaven in a pan, and I’m not even exaggerating!
Listen, we’ve all been there – unexpected guests, last-minute potlucks, or just those intense sweet cravings that hit out of nowhere. This recipe has saved my behind more times than I can count!
What you’ll need (trust me, it’s worth the grocery trip):
– 2 sticks unsalted butter
– 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 teaspoon sea salt
– 1 cup brown sugar
– ½ cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Now, here’s where the magic happens (and where I usually start dancing around my kitchen):
1. First things first, brown that butter! Melt it in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. This takes about 5-7 minutes. Just don’t burn it like I did the first time (we don’t talk about that disaster 😅).
1. Let the butter cool for about 10 minutes – perfect time to preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper.
1. While waiting, whisk together your flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

1. Mix your cooled brown butter with both sugars until well combined. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. The mixture should look glossy and smooth.
1. Gradually mix in your dry ingredients, then fold in those chocolate chips. Try not to eat all the dough – I know it’s tempting!
1. Spread the mixture in your prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.
Let these babies cool for at least 30 minutes (I know, the waiting is torture!) before cutting into squares.
Y’all, these bars are seriously addictive – crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and that brown butter adds this caramel-like flavor that’s just _chef’s kiss_. Perfect for potlucks, afternoon snacks, or let’s be honest – breakfast (I won’t judge!).
