Oh. My. Goodness. Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for what I’m about to share because this breakfast dessert recipe is about to change your morning game forever! I’ve been testing this Caramelized Banana French Toast Bread Pudding for weeks (my hips don’t lie), and I finally perfected it to pure breakfast heaven.

Picture this: chunks of buttery brioche soaked in a vanilla-cinnamon custard, layered with caramelized bananas, and topped with a maple-bourbon sauce that’ll make you want to lick your plate clean. Don’t worry, I won’t judge – I’ve done it too! 😉

What You’ll Need:
– 1 loaf brioche bread, cubed
– 4 ripe bananas
– 4 large eggs
– 2 cups whole milk
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
– 2 teaspoons cinnamon
– 1/4 cup butter
– Pinch of salt

For the sauce:
– 1/2 cup maple syrup
– 2 tablespoons bourbon (optional, but live a little!)

Instructions:
1. First things first, preheat that oven to 350°F (175°C). We’re about to make magic happen!

1. Cut your brioche into 1-inch cubes. If they’re a day old, even better! Spread them on a baking sheet and toast them slightly for about 5 minutes. We want them toasty but not burned, just like how we like our summer tans!

1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, and cinnamon. Don’t be shy with that vanilla – I won’t tell anyone if you add an extra splash!

1. Here’s where it gets good: Slice those bananas and caramelize them in butter and brown sugar until they’re golden brown and smelling like heaven.

1. Layer half the bread cubes in a greased 9×13 baking dish, top with half the caramelized bananas, then repeat. Pour that custard mixture all over, making sure every piece of bread gets some love.

1. Let it sit for 15 minutes to soak up all that goodness (patience is a virtue, darling!).

1. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and slightly puffy. The center should be set but still have a slight jiggle – kind of like me after making this recipe for the tenth time!

For the sauce:
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer until slightly thickened. Drizzle over individual servings while warm.

Y’all, I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve made this for brunch gatherings, and every single time, people beg for the recipe. It’s that good!
