Indulgent bread pudding meets bananas foster in this heavenly dessert, where warm caramel cascades over melting vanilla ice cream

Listen up, because this dessert is about to change your dessert game forever. It combines the comfort of traditional bread pudding with the sophisticated flair of Bananas Foster, and trust me, it’s easier than it sounds!

Here’s what you’ll need:
– 1 loaf of day-old brioche bread (cut into cubes)
– 4 ripe bananas
– 4 large eggs
– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 cup brown sugar (divided)
– 2 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– 1/4 cup butter
– 3 tbsp dark rum (optional, but like… why wouldn’t you? 😉)

Instructions:
1. First things first, preheat that oven to 350°F. Butter a 9×13 baking dish because we’re not about that stick-to-the-pan life!

1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, milk, 1/2 cup brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Add your bread cubes and let them soak up all that goodness for about 15 minutes. (Perfect time to scroll through my other recipes, just saying! 😘)

1. Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and remaining brown sugar. Once bubbling, add sliced bananas and cook until they’re caramelized and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. If using rum, add it now and let it flambe (carefully, ladies – we want drama in our lives, but not in our kitchen!)

1. Pour half the bread mixture into your prepared dish, layer half the banana mixture, then repeat with remaining bread and bananas.

1. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and set in the middle. The top should be slightly crispy, and the inside should be custardy perfection!

Ladies and gents, can we talk about how amazing your kitchen smells right now? This is the kind of dessert that makes your neighbors “coincidentally” drop by! Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and watch everyone’s eyes roll back in pure bliss!
